The store sold winners before, but none this big.
A jackpot-winning Pennsylvania Lottery Cash 5 ticket worth $800,000 was sold at Newcomer's Candynut Shoppe, 1055 Baltimore St. in Hanover.
On Tuesday, the ticket correctly matched all five balls, 14-23-28-29-31, to win the prize.
"We've had some jackpots worth $100,000 and a lot of $1,000 wins, but this is the biggest ticket we've sold," said store owner Dick Clousher.
Clousher said he has no idea who purchased the ticket, but Newcomer's has a "very good base of regulars."
The store will get a $5,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket and will use the money to pay bills, he said.
"It's not too bad. It's pretty nice to sell a winner. We need to sell a bigger jackpot someday," Clousher said.
The Cash 5 winner has one year from the drawing date to claim prizes.
Pennsylvania Lottery officials say the ticket holder should immediately sign the back of the ticket, call the lottery at 717-702-8146 and file a claim at any of the Lottery's seven area offices or at Lottery headquarters in Middletown, Dauphin County.
The Middletown office at 1200 Fulling Mill Road is the closest to York County.
Claims can be filed there from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
