York City has added three blocks to its list of areas where residents must display parking permits during the York Fair or face a fine.
New to the list are the 600 blocks of Linden, Florida and Texas avenues.
That's in addition to much of the neighborhood known as the Avenues.
The fair begins Friday, Sept. 5, and ends Sunday, Sept. 14.
Starting Monday, residents can acquire permits at City Hall, 101 S. George St., on weekdays between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. or from the police department, 50 W. King St., on weekdays between 5 and 10 p.m.
There is a limit of three permits per household.
Permits are valid only within one block of the person's home. Parking outside of that zone could result in a parking ticket, according to a news release.
The city is asking that permits be taped to the driver's side rear window so it is visible from the street.
Permits may not be transferred between vehicles.
Street sweeping will not occur during the fair.
Questions should be directed to Mary Shoff, parking enforcement supervisor, at (717) 849-2230.
