Southwestern Regional Police say help from the public led to the quick arrest of three woman who allegedly were involved in an armed robbery at a North Codorus Township restaurant and bar on Monday.

Officers arrested Barbara Nicole Mummert, 26, no fixed address; Mary Elizabeth Knight, 46, of Hampstead, Md.; and Knight's 22-year-old daughter, Shantal Mae Knight also of Hampstead, Md., on Tuesday, police said in a news release.

Police say they were tipped off to the trio soon after they released suspect photographs and were contacted by a citizen.

According to police, Mummert and Shantal Knight entered Goofy's Eatery & Spirits, 5965 York Road, about 7:45 p.m. Monday. As Mummert acted as a customer, Shantal Knight handed a clerk a noted that demanded cash and threatened the clerk with a weapon, police said.

With money in hand, Shantal Knight fled the business but Mummert stuck around and gave responding officers false information about the robber and tampered with evidence in an attempt to thwart the investigation, police said.

She too fled and met up with Shantal Knight in a car driven by Mary Knight; then all three fled to Maryland, police said.

Mummert is charged with theft, receiving stolen property, tampering with evidence and conspiracy to commit robbery. Mary Knight and Shantal Knight are each charged with theft, receiving stolen property and conspiracy to commit robbery, police said.
