A Glen Rock area man died Monday night after he was involved in a farming accident, according to York County Deputy Coroner Steve Cosey.
Dana Doll, 47, of Glen Rock was injured around 4:50 p.m., when the farm tractor he was using ran over him, he said. While Doll was off the tractor, it drifted down a hill, Cosey said.
The incident occurred near the 5000 block of Dairy Lane in Manheim Township, according to Southwestern Regional Police.
The road is in a rural area near Route 216, and Doll was a farmer, said chief Gregory Bean.
When police arrived at the scene, they found him unconscious about 100 feet away from the tractor, he said.
There were no witnesses to the accident, but a neighbor heard the tractor when it ran into a nearby tree, Bean said. After the collision, the tractor was found partially disengaged from the park position, he said.
Police believe Doll might've tried to get back into the tractor before he was hurt, Bean said.
Doll was transported by air ambulance to York Hospital, where he died at 6:31 p.m., according to police and the coroner's office.
The cause of Doll's death is abdominal trauma, and there will be no autopsy, Cosey said.
Although police are still accepting information about the incident, Bean said his department and the coroner's office believe it to be a tragic accident.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul's (Dub's) U.C.C. Church, 1958 Dub's Church Road in Hanover. Viewings will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday at the church.
