Brandon Corbitt wants to raise money for the Children's Advocacy Center so kids experiencing abuse can have a better space to talk about abuse than he did when he was in their situation.

The York salon owner is offering pay-what-you-will haircuts Saturday at the Summer Bash and Cut-A-Thon, which will benefit the Center, according to a press release.

The event runs for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will be held at Corbitt's Hair Ink Salon at 1240 Woodberry Road. It also features a $10 barbecue lunch, the release said.

The first 250 attendees will receive goodie bags; raffles will be held for a 32-inch flat-screen television and baskets of beauty products, according to the release.

The Center expects deal with to 30 percent more young people in the next 12 months because the Center's services have been expanded to include 14- to 17-year-olds, who previously had gone to the District Attorney's office to disclose abuse, the release said.

The Center aims to provide a safe, comfortable place for children to disclose abuse, be examined for it and talk about it.
