Police are concerned about the welfare of a 23-year-old woman last seen in the company of a homicide suspect.
Karina DeJesus hasn't been seen or heard from since Wednesday, Capt. Tim Utley of the York City Police Department said Sunday evening.
Relatives alerted police to the situation Friday, he said.
"That's not like her," Utley said. "There was concern because, I guess, there was a negative history with this guy in her life."
The guy is Jeffrey Reid Jr., DeJesus's ex-boyfriend and a suspect in the July 19 fatal shooting of Dashaun Davis.
DeJesus and Reid have at least one child together, Utley said. The child is being cared for by family members, he said.
Reid, 27, is accused of shooting Davis while Davis sat in his car just after 11 p.
When she was seen Wednesday, DeJesus was with Reid, Utley said.
Whether she left with him voluntarily or against her will remains unclear.
"We didn't want to come out and say, 'Hey, it's a kidnapping,'" Utley said. "But we didn't want to just say she left with him and it's no problem. There's enough there that we want to verify that she's OK. We want to locate her for her safety."
DeJesus has been listed as a missing person in the National Crime Information Center, Utley said.
"The last we knew, she was in the company of a guy who has a homicide warrant," he said.
Anyone who sees DeJesus should call York City Police at (717) 846-1234 or call 911.
