The York County Coroner's office has identified the man who died during a tree-cutting incident in Newberry Township Thursday night as George Melhorn Jr.

The 65-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Coroner Pam Gay.

Police and emergency crews were sent to Melhorn's home in the 3200 block of Grandview Drive just before 9 p.m. after Melhorn was struck by a falling tree he was cutting down.

Melhorn died of multiple injuries, according to Cosey, who has ruled the death accidental.
