Red Robin is set to break ground on its new restaurant in Springettsbury Township.
Franchisee Lehigh Valley Restaurant Group Inc. is hosting a groundbreaking ceremony and luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the site of its first location in York County. The event is open to the public.
The Colorado-based gourmet burger chain will be built on the east side of the York Galleria, right off Mount Zion Road, in the mall parking lot closest to Boscov's.
Red Robin is expected to open this fall, but a date hasn't been announced.
The eatery will create 150 jobs, which will be advertised at www.redrobin.jobs on Sept. 1. Hiring will begin that month, said David Saba, a spokesman for the restaurant project.
Lehigh Valley Restaurant Group has opened one Red Robin a year since 1993.
The franchisee previously considered opening locations in York Township and Red Lion, but those plans never came to fruition.
Red Robin sells 24 fresh, gourmet burgers in a variety of recipes, salads, sandwichs, soups, entrees and more, according to the company website.
