It appears a thief or thieves are behind the thefts of lawn furniture from two Springettsbury Township neighborhoods, police said.
"Normally when we see something like this it's just kids fooling around," township police Sgt. Brian Wilbur said. "But we have not found any of the furniture yet."
Often when teens steal lawn and porch furniture it's done as a prank and the furniture turns up a few days later, the sergeant said.
Police took two theft reports from residents on Cambridge Road in Haines Acres and two reports from Eastern Boulevard and Russell Street in the Fayfield neighborhood, Wilbur said. The thefts happened overnight Wednesday.
One of the Fayfield incidents is an attempted theft.
"Furniture was moved from (the victims') porch to their driveway ... like someone was scared off," Wilbur said.
The sergeant is asking people to be on the lookout for someone hauling a bunch of lawn furniture, perhaps in the back of a truck.
Some of it was high-end furniture, Wilbur confirmed.
Anyone with any information is asked to call Springettsbury Township Police at (717) 757-3525.
