A young woman testified in court Tuesday she was 12 years old the first time she had sex with former Dover Area School District music teacher Matthew Puterbaugh.
Another 13 young women - including many current Dover students - testified during the preliminary hearing that Puterbaugh either touched or videotaped them without their permission.
At the end of their testimony, District Justice Scott Laird ruled there was enough evidence to forward two sets of charges against Puterbaugh to trial.
He already faces trial on more than 600 counts of child pornography.
During Tuesday's proceedings, prosecutors also added two new charges against Puterbaugh, 47, 1000 Conewago Road. They are rape of a child and involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a minor.
Both stem from his alleged involvement with a former student, who said they had sex "multiple times" when she was between 12 and 16 years old.
The testimony: The young woman, who is now 25, said she met Puterbaugh when he was her fourth-grade music teacher. During her testimony, she said they first had sex during the summer between sixth and seventh grades. They continued to have sex at Dover Intermediate School, her house and his house until her family moved when she was 16, she said.
In that case, Puterbaugh also faces charges of statutory sexual assault, aggravated indecent assualt against a victim less than 16 years of age, corruption of minors, and indecent assault against a victim less than 16 years of age.
In the case of the 13 other young women, Puterbaugh was ordered to stand trial on charges of invasion of privacy, corruption, intercepting communications and harassment.
During Tuesday's hearing, some said Puterbaugh touched them during class and some identified themselves on videos discovered on Puterbaugh's cellphone by Northern Regional police.
The police department obtained the cellphone while seizing Puterbaugh's computer at school, said Det. Mark Baker.
An analysis revealed multiple videos of current and former school-aged girls at Dover, and some were taken at an angle that revealed undergarments, looked down their shirts or focused on their genitals, he said.
The 13 young women and students testified the videos were taken without their knowledge and consent during classes at Dover Intermediate School, at band camp and the 2012 Dover High School graduation ceremony. The recordings allegedly happened while they ranged in age from 12 to 17 years old, and the majority of the videos were recorded while they were 12 and 13, they said.
At least four girls also said Puterbaugh touched their thighs, shoulders and buttocks during class time.
One of the alleged victims described his as being "over friendly," and another said she pushed his hand away, crossed her legs and looked away after he allegedly touched her thigh.
Puterbaugh, who did not testify during the preliminary hearing, remains free on bail.
A formal arraignment is scheduled for 9 a.m. Friday, Aug. 15, at the York County Judicial Center.
Previous charges: Puterbaugh will also face a pretrial conference on 661 counts of possessing child pornography at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27.
Child pornography was allegedly found on Puterbaugh's home computer by Northern Regional police while they were investigating other allegations.
The investigation began in late February when a Dover Intermediate School official contacted the police department with allegations of Puterbaugh squeezing a 12-year-old girl's thigh during a music lesson, Baker said.
Since then, Puterbaugh has been on unpaid leave, according to the school district.
Dover Area continues to work with Northern Regional police and is providing counseling support to students, a district statement said.
