When a Chanceford Township woman went to her ex-boyfriend's Windsor Township home, she brought with her one of the gifts he had given her when they were still together — a hunting knife, according to police.

Sheila Kay Grim then used that knife to attack a woman inside the North Blacksmith Road home where ex-boyfriend Derek Bowman now lives, York Area Regional Police said.

Michele Finn, 23, suffered a stab wound to her chest and a slash wound to her face during the Saturday-night attack, according to Grim's charging documents. Finn was treated and released from York Hospital, a hospital spokesman said.

On Sunday, police asked for the public's help in finding Grim, who had fled the home after the attack, police said.

Turned self in: Grim, 38, of 4019 Brownton Road, turned herself in at the office of District Judge John Fishel about 3:30 p.m. Monday and was arraigned, according to Fishel's office.

Grim was then taken to York County Prison, unable to post her $200,000 bail, according to Fishel's office. She is charged with attempted homicide, aggravated assault, burglary, simple assault and criminal trespass.

According to charging documents, Grim went to Bowman's home about 10:30 p.m. Saturday without his permission and the two argued.

Bowman asked her to leave, but she refused and the argument continued, police said.

Finn was lying on a couch trying to watch a movie and later told officers she was trying to avoid getting in the middle of the confrontation, documents state.

As Bowman was trying to walk Grim out of the home, she became enraged and yelled, "I got something for you," documents state.

'Lunged' at victim: Grim then pulled out a hunting or skinning-type knife and lunged at Finn, charging documents allege.

Bowman ran toward the women while Grim was still slashing and stabbing Finn, police said. He threw Grim to the ground and disarmed her, police said.

Finn then ran to a different room and called 911, police said.

Bowman told officers he recognized the knife Grim used to attack Finn because he bought it as a gift for Grim, charging documents state.

Grim's defense attorney, Jeff Marshall, could not immediately be reached for comment.
