An elderly Hanover woman died Saturday from injuries she suffered more than three weeks ago in a Heidelberg Towship car crash.

Cecilia Roseanne Baublitz, 72, of East Chestnut Street, was pronounced dead at York Hospital, where she had remained since the June 5 crash, Southwestern Regional Police said.

She died of multiple injuries, according to York County Coroner Pam Gay, who said the death has been ruled accidental. No autopsy is scheduled, Gay said.

Police said Baublitz was driving a Mercury Sable westbound in the 6600 block of Moulstown Road about 2:40 p.m. when it appears she crossed the center line at a sharp curve and crashed into an eastbound Toyota Tacoma driven by Shane A. Stevens, 36, of Hanover.

Stevens suffered minor injuries, police said.

Baublitz was trapped in her car for about a half-hour as rescue crews from Porters Community Fire Co. worked to free her, according to police. She was then flown to York Hospital by medical helicopter, police said.

Moulstown Road was closed for about two hours until the crash was cleared, police said.

Anyone who has information about the crash can call Officer Nik Johnson at (717) 225-1333, ext. 112.
