Erik Shaffer was tired of going to consignment stores with his wife and never finding anything good for men.
So in May he opened Rellik – Consignments for Men at 215 N. Main St. in Loganville.
"There aren't many places like this out there, but I think there's a need for good quality men's items," he said.
It's a much different business from Orville's Restaurant Catering, which Shaffer owned at the York Airport until 1999.
"But the customer service is the same," he said.
His store doesn't sell many clothes for men — just a few suits, Harley-Davidson T-shirts, and vintage hats and ties.
The majority of the merchandise includes hunting and fishing gear, man cave decor, golf clubs, motorcycle jackets and boots, knives, humidors and sports memorabilia.
"Most items are in giftable condition," Shaffer said.
Collectibles, too: There are also some rare items in his store: steam engine toys made in Germany during the late 1950s, World War I and II gas masks, leather shin guards from World War I, and clips, belt clips and revolver holsters from both wars.
"A lot of people come in and say, 'This is not what I was expecting,'" he said.
Others ask him why someone didn't think of the store sooner, Shaffer said.
"We're selling good stuff at reasonable prices," he said.
Rellik is still looking for consigners and items such as vintage nautical memorabilia, neon beer signs, pinball machines, left-handed compound bows, golf clubs, Steelers and Ravens merchandise, and duck decoys and turkey calls.
The consignment split is 60/40, with the consigner keeping 60 percent of the sale price.
For more information on consigning, visit www.rellikshop.com or call the store at (717) 650-8245.
Store hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
