DSW is the latest retailer to join the redevelopment of West Manchester Mall.

The Ohio-based chain of shoe stores has submitted plans to West Manchester Township, said Donna Hollerbush, assistant in the township's zoning office.

It will be the first DSW in York County.

The store sells a wide variety of brand-name and designer shoes, handbags and accessories.

DSW is the fifth retailer to sign on to the new West Manchester Town Center.

Along with the anchors - Kohl's, Macy's, Regal Cinemas and Walmart - Ann Taylor Loft, Buffalo Wild Wings Grill & Bar, Kay Jewelers, Kirkland's and Petco will also have locations at the new shopping hub.

Interior demolition is under way at the 32-year-old enclosed mall at 1800 Loucks Road. A $47 million redevelopment will change it into the town center, which will be an outdoor plaza with outward-facing storefronts.

The anchor stores will remain open during construction, and the other stores will open with the new West Manchester Town Center.

Developers said they plan to have the revamped mall ready in time for the Christmas shopping season.
