A Red Lion woman who had sex with a teenage boy twice in 2012 was sentenced Thursday, and has already served the bulk of her prison time.
Mikki Yvonne Phillips, 35, who at the time of the crimes lived in the first block of East High Street, was sentenced to nine to 23 months in York County Prison, and was given credit for time served, according to court records.
She has been in prison since Oct. 16, when York Area Regional Police Detective Donald Hopple Jr. filed charges against her.
Phillips, who also is known as Mikki Lapham, pleaded guilty Feb. 6 to statutory sexual assault.
She has sex twice with a boy at her former home in the Walnut Ridge apartment complex in Dallastown and at a home in the first block of North Main Street in Yoe, court records state.
Family friend: The boy was 13 or 14 at the time of the alleged assaults, and Phillips was considered a friend of his family, according to police.
The boy didn't say anything to his family at the time, police said.
The case came to light when Phillips' former roommate told the boy's father about the sexual contact, police said.
The boy told investigators he was sleeping over at Phillips' former Dallastown home and went into her room to watch television, police said. She sat down on the bed and started to kiss him, records state.
Phillips then removed the boy's clothing and had unprotected sex with him, police said.
The second sexual encounter happened a couple months later, at Phillips' former Yoe home, according to police.
Welfare fraud: At the time of her arrest, Phillips was free on her own recognizance, accused of fraudulently obtaining food stamps.
She pleaded guilty Feb. 6 to welfare fraud — a third-degree felony — and on Thursday was sentenced to three years of probation.
That punishment runs consecutively to her prison sentence, court records state.
