A drive down Memory Lane will soon have Yorkers seeing something pretty familiar, but it won't be deja vu.

Round the Clock Diner is opening a second location, Round the Clock Diner East, at the former East York Diner (formerly the former Eat'n Park) at 145 Memory Lane in Springettsbury Township. It'll be 2.86 miles away from the 24-hour anchor at the corner of Route 30 and Toronita Street, 222 Arsenal Road in Manchester Township.

Plans call for a major remodel of the interior, and renovations have been under way since a building permit was issued in February, said Trisha Lang, Springettsbury's director of community development.

The interior of the building was modified only slightly when the independently owned East York Diner opened in 2011, after the area's only Eat'n Park became a casualty of the nationwide chain's financial woes. East York Diner closed about a year ago, Lang said.

Round the Clock owners are expected to install new flooring, lighting, and waitress stations and reconfigure the seating, she said, and they're also building a 9-by-39 addition to house a cooler.

Lang said a date for occupancy, on which the restaurant can open, has not been set.

Themi Sacarellos, one of Round the Clock's owners, did not return calls for comment.
