Josh Kaufman, the smooth-singing father of three, captured the Season 6 crown on The Voice Tuesday night.

In the process, he broke the five-season stranglehold coaches Blake Shelton and Adam Levine have held on The Voice title.

But his win for Team Usher is also likely to be the most controversial in the show's three-plus year history.

Voice host Carson Daly opened the night's broadcast by announcing that all iTunes votes cast this week would be discarded because one of Josh's songs from Monday's show was difficult to find on iTunes.

All day, iTunes results show Christina Grimmie and Jake Worthington dominating the charts, presumably chalking up far more votes via that method than Josh did.

Daly said tossing out the votes didn't change the outcome, which was announced nearly two hours later as the Team Usher singer from Indianapolis stood under a shower of confetti.
