York City Police are investigating the reported shooting of a Chambersburg man in the area of North Albemarle Street Sunday night.

Police said a man showed up at Memorial Hospital about an hour after suffering the minor thigh wound from a small caliber bullet.

Capt. Tim Utley said Kennedy Johnson reported being shot near Allen Field around 11:30 p.m., and he was treated and released from the hospital.

Officers haven't gotten a lot of cooperation from the man, and it's not clear exactly what happened or even if he was shot in York City or at some other location, Utley said.

Johnson said he was walking in the area when shots rang out, and he started running away and then realized he was shot, Utley said. The shooting was reported by hospital staff, Utley said.

Utley said there were no altercations reported Sunday in the area where Johnson said the shooting occurred.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 849-2219, an anonymous tip line at 849-2204, or text a tip to 847411.
