A Springettsbury Township restaurant employee is expected to recover fully after being struck in the head Monday night as the restaurant was being robbed at gunpoint, police said.

A man and a woman walked into East Express Chinese Restaurant, 2300 E. Market St., at 9:53 p.m. and demanded cash, according to township police.

One of them brandished a handgun, but no shots were fired, police said.

A man working there at the time was struck in the head by one of the robbers, and was later transported to a local hospital by ambulance for treatment, police said.
