Sam Peachy of Little Washington Fabricators, Gordonville, PA, prepares the mount for a stock car Monday, March 17, 2014, which will sit atop the Quaker Steak and Lube restaurant on Kenneth Road. The former NASCAR Racing Experience vehicle was hoisted by crane to the roof of the automotive-themed eatery. The franchise location is set to open mid-May and is currently hiring. Quaker Steak & Lube is opening its new West Manchester Township restaurant this month.

The Sharon, Pa.-based restaurant chain will open the new location at 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, at 1411 Kenneth Road, according to manager Megan Zorbaugh.

But one of Quaker Steak's fans will get to test the restaurant before it opens to the public, she said.

At the new restaurant's Facebook page, www.facebook.com/QSLYorkPA, Quaker Steak is hosting a contest. If the page gets to 2,500 likes before the weekend, the company will select one person and three of their friends to get an appetizer, entree and drink.

The winner will join the restaurant's employees at friends and family weekend — the weekend before Quaker Steak opens.

Quaker Steak employs 200 workers at the new restaurant, which is its first location in York County.
