Property taxes for residents in the Red Lion school district could stay the same for the 2014-15 school year if all goes as planned.

At the school board meeting last week, business manager Terry Robinson said the district continues to whittle away at the deficit, which is still $891,827.

But Robinson said he is "confident" he will be able to present a balanced budget with no tax increase at the May 1 meeting.

Robinson will present a full budget overview at that meeting, he said. If there is no increase, the district's tax rate will remain at 22.4 mills.
