Pennsylvania State Police seized more than $16 million in illegal drugs so far this year, according to a news release.

Seized in 2014 were about 37 pounds of heroin and about 23 pounds of methamphetamine, with a combined estimated street value of $9.5 million, according to the release.

Troopers also seized more than 700,000 prescription pills and 1.325 pounds of marijuana, with a combined estimated street value of more than $1 million, the release states.

In 2013, state police seized more than $55 million in illegal drugs, according to the release.
