Local Dish Network subscribers temporary lost their WGAL station this week.
Ongoing negotiations between Dish Network and Hearst Television Inc. temporarily blacked out WGAL's signal to satellite subscribers in York.
The signal went dark from 10 p.m. Tuesday until about noon Wednesday when a retransmission deal was reached for the NBC affiliate.
It's unclear how many local residents lost the channel because Dish does not release specific market information because of competitive reasons, said spokesman John Hall.
All satellite and cable companies pay for the rights to carry a channel. In recent years, when a contract runs out, a channel is blacked out until a new agreement is reached.
