Administrators at New Hope Academy Charter School have decided to delay the start of school for students Wednesday by two hours.
Staff members should report at the normal time, said Kara Luzik, a New Hope spokeswoman.
The staff plans to use those two hours before students arrive to talk about helping students handle news of a Commonwealth Court ruling that denied New Hope's appeal to stay open beyond June, she said.
"They're going to spend some time preparing them on how to deal with the students. The students today were really, really upset. There were a lot of tears," Luzik said. "They're just focusing a lot on helping the students when they come into school tomorrow. They don't want their education to suffer over this news."
Luzik said New Hope also plans to host a meeting for parents and families next week, but the date and time have not yet been scheduled.
