A Spring Grove-area man is accused of stealing more than $20,000 from a York County youth baseball organization so he could fund a business venture.
Matthew C. Spangler, 43, of Summer House Lane in North Codorus Township, is charged with two counts of theft for allegedly taking money from the Mason-Dixon Ruffnecks and using the organization's credit and debit card for personal use.
State police said Spangler was the organization's president and treasurer for a time.
He manipulated individual team budget sheets between January 2011 and June, taking money to start "Gold Glove Sports Academy," according to state police.
Spangler's attorney, David Hart of Hanover, declined immediate comment.
