Seven people were injured in a single-vehicle crash on Lincoln Highway in Hellam Township on Tuesday night.

Wrightsville Fire Chief Chad Livelsberger said the seven patients were taken by ambulance to local hospitals.

First responders were sent the crash near Accomac Road a little after 7 p.m. and quickly called for additional medics, bringing in ambulances from as far away as York City and Lancaster County.

Livelsberger said crews triaged the patients, sending ones with more severe injured to hospitals first.

"We don't deal with (this many patients) often but it does happen," he said.

Livelsberger couldn't say the extent of their injuries.

Lincoln Highway closed for over two hours as crews cleared the crash. It reopened about 9:15 p.m., the chief said.
