Officers in the Harrisburg area found a stolen gun inside the car of a Dover Township man earlier this week, according to police, who said they searched the car because the smell of marijuana was wafting from it.
Susquehanna Township Police arrested 22-year-old Kameron Edward Orr, who remains in Dauphin County Prison on $350,000 bail.
According to police, officers responding to an unrelated call about 5:10 p.m. Monday spotted a vehicle parked in Logan Alley, with a man and a woman in the back seat.
Officers smelled a strong odor of pot coming from the car, but Orr declined to let them search his vehicle, police said. At that point, officers obtained a search warrant and impounded Orr's car, according to police.
Orr asked officers several times if he could get his jacket from his car, but they would not allow him to do that, police said.
A search of the car yielded a stolen 9mm handgun, two loaded ammunition clips and drug paraphernalia, police said.
Orr is charged with receiving stolen property and carrying a firearm without a license. Court records show police did not file a paraphernalia charge.
