The National Weather Service on Friday issued a flood watch in effect from noon Saturday until 8 p.m. Sunday for York County and the surrounding areas.

One to two inches of rain should come down on York County during that time period as a storm rolls through from the southwest, the NWS says.

The weather service predicts the most rain will fall Saturday around and to the east of I-81, so York County as of this point is right in the path of heavier rain.

A "watch" means conditions are right for flooding to occur; there's the potential for rivers, streams and clogged drainage systems to overflow, the NWS says.
