A York City teenager is expected to survive after being shot in the leg Sunday afternoon, police said.

The 17-year-old told officers he was in the 400 block of South Queen Street at 3:05 p.m. when someone in a gold Ford Escape shot at him three times, at which point the car turned onto Harding Court, York City Police said.

He suffered a gunshot wound to the back of his left leg, near his buttocks, police said.

The teen told police a man whose real name he doesn't know then drove him to Memorial Hospital, police said.

He told officers he didn't see his attacker and has no idea who shot him, police said.

The teen walked into the hospital's emergency room by himself, witnesses told police.
