Martin Library will hold its 17th annual Celebrity Auction to raise money to purchase new books for its Children's Library.

The event begins at noon Sunday, when the public can preview items and register for bidding, which begins at 1 p.m. at the library's Quiet Room at 159 E. Market St. in York City.

The action includes items from television and movie stars, athletes and authors, as well as mementos from authors, politicians and entertainers.

Auction items include an NFL football signed by Hall of Famer Marty Lyons, a Harley-Davidson book signed by the founder's grandson Willie G. Davidson and a signed limited anniversary edition of "The Exorcist."

Professional auctioneer Gary Gladfelter will direct the bidding.

More than 300 items have been collected for the auction, including autographed posters, apparel, photographs, scripts, music, books, and cartoon panels.
