A 16-year-old was treated for a gunshot wound to the arm at York Hospital at about 10:15 p.m. Friday, according to a York City Police Department press release.
The boy, whose injuries aren't life-threatening, told police that someone he didn't know shot him outside the boy's home on the 300 block of West Gay Street, the press release says.
Police had received reports of shots fired on the 600 block of West Market Street 15 minutes before York Hospital alerted them that the hospital was treating someone with a gunshot wound, the release says. It says police aren't sure yet if those reports and this shooting are related.
Anyone with information about the shooting can contact York City Police by telephone at (717) 846-1234 or anonymously by texting the word "Yorktips" followed by a space and then the information to 847411 (tip411).
