A Dover Intermediate School teacher charged with more than 600 counts of possession of child porn has been released from York County Prison on bail.

Matthew B. Puterbaugh, 46, of 1000 Conewago Road in Dover Township, was released after he posted bail on Monday, according to court records.

Bail was set at $250,000 when he was arraigned last week.

Puterbaugh was arrested Feb. 27 by Northern York County Regional Police after investigators allegedly found 661 images of child porn on his home computer.

Investigators also found videos of clothed school-age girls, some of whom were later identified as current and former district students, on the computer and on Puterbaugh's cellphone, police said.

The videos focused on the students' breast and genital regions, but the students were clothed, police said.

Puterbaugh is charged with 661 counts of possession of child porn and a single count of possessing an instrument of a crime, police said.

He is scheduled to appear before District Judge David Eshbach for a preliminary hearing on Friday at 9 a.m., according to court records.
