When officers asked a York City man for information on how he suffered two gunshot wounds early Tuesday morning, the man was less than forthcoming, according to York City Police.
"I think I should have a lawyer," Nathaniel Rodriguez said, according to police.
Officers were called to the 21-year-old man's home in the 600 block of East Market Street just before 2 a.m. for a reported shooting victim.
They found Rodriguez sitting in his living room with a gunshot wound to his right thigh and one to his left thigh, city Capt. Russ Tschopp said.
He was taken to York Hospital for treatment of his non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
Rodriguez told officers someone came into his home and shot him, but there was no evidence to suggest the shooting happened inside the home, police said.
Rodriguez was unwilling to give officers any other details and said he wanted an attorney, police said.
Anyone with information on how or where the shooting occurred is asked to call city detectives at (717) 849-2219, or call the city's anonymous crime tip line, (717) 849-2204. Or anonymously text a tip to YORKTIPS at 847411.
