The National Weather Service has issued a freezing rain advisory for York County and the surrounding area.

The advisory is in effect from 4 a.m. to 9 a.m. Wednesday.

Precipitation is expected to move into the area late tonight or early tomorrow morning, the weather service says.

It could start as a brief period of freezing rain because temperatures will be at or below freezing.

Temperatures are expected to rise by mid-morning, eliminating the threat of freezing rain, the weather service says.
