York City's Fire and Rescue Services is asking residents to remove snow from around fire hydrants.

In case of a fire, the snow removal will help emergency crews locate and connect to hydrants quickly to help save property and lives, according to a news release from the fire and rescue services.

Residents' help is greatly appreciated in addressing this concern during this extreme winter weather, the department said.
