PennDOT is lowering speed limits on major roads in south central Pennsylvania beginning at 10 a.m. because of the snowstorm.
The speed limit on Interstate 83 will be lowered to 45 mph. Speed limits on Route 30 and Route 15 in York County will also be reduced to 45 mph.
Limits on these other roads in the region will also be reduced: interstates 81, 78 and 283 and routes 22/322, 581, 11 and 222.
PennDOT asks residents to stay home if possible, but if drivers must be out, remember to leave plenty of space around snowplows and do not try to pass plows or vehicles spreading road treatments.
With snow falling, accidents are being reported around York County.
