State police in Gettysburg are charging a Biglerville man with two counts of aggravated assault, simple assault, and reckless endangerment after he allegedly shot a juvenile who had been part of a group ringing doorbells as a prank.

A 14-year-old boy was treated with non-life-threatening injuries to the right foot and left leg after being shot around 2:30 a.m. Friday, police said.

Police said Eric Lee Steinour, 28, confronted two of the kids in an alley in Arendtsville, where they had been ringing doorbells, and shot a Glock 9 mm handgun at them as they ran away.

Police responded to the reported gunshot and found Steinour outside an acquaintance's residence. He admitted to the shooting and was taken into custody, police said.
