An electrical fire on the 400 block of Walnut Street in York City late Friday night displaced 11 adults and four children, said York City Fire Chief David Michaels.
Michaels said York City Fire rescued two people -- a man and his four-year-old daughter -- from the row house in which the fire started. The fire blocked the pair in, so they had to climb out a third-floor window, he said.
"Actually, a neighbor threw up a ladder to help them get down," Michaels said.
The girl was taken to Hershey Medical for observation, but Michaels said her condition is "nothing serious."
The fire caused about $80,000 in combined damage to the home and the two surrounding row houses, he said.
