The Realtors Association of York & Adams Counties released its 2013 year-end report Friday, revealing a 14 percent increase in York County home sales compared to 2012.
Between January and December of 2013, nearly 4,400 homes sold in the county.
The median sale price in York County was $145,000 in 2013 -- a modest 3 percent increase over 2012 numbers.
The market was hottest in the Central York School District, where 478 homes sold in 2013. However, the median sales price decreased by 4 percent in Central to $150,000.
RAYAC reported the biggest increase in median sales price between 2012 and 2013 in the Spring Grove Area School District, where prices increased by 10 percent to $155,000.
In York City, the median sales price continues to drop. Between 2012 and 2013, the value of homes in the city decreased by 14 percent to a median sales price of $30,161.
However, RAYAC reported a 25 percent increase in the number of homes sold in the city -- from 254 homes in 2012 to 317 homes in 2013.
