West York Police on Monday arrested a 29-year-old York City resident on an outstanding warrant for attempted homicide out of Puerto Rico.
Ricardo Alicea-Marquez, 29, of the 600 block of Front Street, will be held in York County Prison pending extradition; the warrant for his arrest was issued in June.
Alicea-Marquez was a passenger in a vehicle during a traffic stop in West York at 4:11 a.m., police said. That's when officers learned of the warrant.
Alicea-Marquez was identified as the suspect in a shooting on June 18 in San German, Puerto Rico, police said.
He was charged by police there with attempt to commit murder and two counts of violating Puerto Rico weapons laws, West York Police said.
