A former Manchester Borough man wanted in York County for allegedly molesting a child has been captured in South Carolina, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.

Once extradited to Pennsylvania, 35-year-old Daniel Shaub will be charged with statutory sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a person less than 16, aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault, corruption of a minor and possessing child pornography, the marshals service said.

Northeastern Regional Police filed the charges Dec. 17, according to court records.

Shaub is accused of sexually assaulting a girl between 2003 and 2005, when the girl was 14 and 15, Chief Bryan Rizzo said.

At the time of the alleged assaults, Shaub lived in Manchester Borough, but subsequently moved to South Carolina, the chief said.

The girl went to police in the last year, which is when an investigation was begun, Rizzo said.

Once charges were filed, investigators asked U.S. marshals to pick up Shaub, since he is out of state, according to the chief.

Marshals arrested Shaub without incident Friday in Surfside Beach, S.C., according to the marshals service.
