The head-on collision involving a school transportation van and a tractor-trailer claimed the life of one person, according to the York County Coroner's Offce.
The person who died was the driver of the van, said Claude Stabley, York County's chief deputy coroner.
No one else was in the van at the time of the crash, he said.
Authorities aren't releasing the name of the person until next of kin are notified.
For some reason, the van crossed into the path of tractor-trailer and hit it head on, Stabley said.
The person died of multiple blunt force trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene, he said.
No other injuries were reported.

Route 116 in the area of the crash is closed, according to a news release from Southwestern Regional Police.
A detour has been set up west of Iron Ridge Road, the release says.

York County's Hazmat team has also been dispatched to the scene for diesel fuel leaking from one of the vehicles, accoridng to York County 911.
The team was sent to the scene about 4:20 p.m.

The York County Coroner's Office has been called to a crash in Heidelberg Township Tuesday afternoon.
First responders were dispatched to the crash on Route 116, known locally as York Road, near Spring Street, about 3:45 p.m., according to York County 911.
The cororner was dispatched a short time later.
According to radio transmissions, the crash involved a tractor-trailer and a van.
