York City Police have arrested one man and are searching for a second one in connection with a fatal shooting at a birthday party early Monday morning.
Police say a fight that started inside of 1029 E. Philadelphia St. ended outside just after 2 a.m. with Carlos Ramos-Diaz, 19, fatally shot.
Ruben Delvalles-Vicente, 29, allegedly shot Ramos-Diaz at least twice as he was walking to a car to leave, said Captain Russell Tschopp, head of the city's detective bureau.
Delvalles-Vicente, of 344 Smyser St., was arrested the day of the shooting and is charged with homicide and conspiracy to commit homicide, according to his charging documents.
He remains in York County Prison after he was denied bail at his arraignment Monday night.
A second man, Victor Gamalier Martinez-Raices, 21, no address provided, is wanted on the same charges, according to court documents.
Fight: Ramos-Diaz's girlfriend, Jochebed Pacheco-Morales, told police that her boyfriend and Delvalles-Vicente got into a fight inside the house but the fight was broken up, according to Delvalles-Vicente's charging documents.
During the fight, Delvalles-Vicente got a gun from Martinez-Raices, and pointed it at Ramos-Diaz, documents state.
Despite having a gun pointed at him, Ramos-Diaz grabbed Delvalles-Vicente's arm that was holding the gun and punched him in the face a number of times, documents state.
The owner of the home recovered the gun, documents state.
Tschopp said Ramos-Diaz and Delvalles-Vicente have a personal history, and police believe the fight was over a woman.
The homeowner ordered the three men out of the house but gave the gun back to Martinez-Raices as he was leaving, documents state.
Shooting: But the peace didn't last long. Outside of the house Delvalles-Vicente and Ramos-Diaz continued to fight, but it was again broken up, documents state.
Martinez-Raices allegedly handed the gun again to Delvalles-Vicente, who shot Ramos-Diaz several times, documents state.
Pacheco-Morales took Ramos-Diaz to York Hospital, where he was pronounced dead around 2:40 a.m., said York County Deputy Coroner Steve Cosey.
An autopsy will be performed Tuesday morning at Lehigh Valley Hospital, he said.
Anyone with information about the incident, or the whereabouts of Martinez-Raices, is asked to call city detectives at (717) 849-2219, or call the city's anonymous crime tip line at (717) 849-2204. Or anonymously text a tip to YORKTIPS at 847411.
