Gold's Gym is relocating.

The North York fitness club at 2340 N. George St. will move in February to a Manchester shopping plaza anchored by Giant at 205 Glen Drive.

Gold's Gym is relocating because it has outgrown its current space and will have an additional 5,000 square feet in Manchester, said Carol Deiuliis, senior vice president of operations for the fitness company.

"Members will enjoy new amenities in a much newer club," she said.

The North York location hasn't been renovated in 20 years, Deiuliis added.

Gold's Gym also operates another location in York County at 298 Pauline Drive in York Township. That gym was renovated a year and a half ago, she said.

As the North York location prepares for its new digs, customers can snag membership discounts and equipment sales.

Items include cardio and strength-training equipment, weight benches, dumbbells and more, Deiuliis said.

Members may notice "For Sale" signs on some of the equipment at the North York gym, she said.

Anyone interested in the equipment should email jweavgolds@yahoo.com.

If new members join now or before the Manchester location opens in February, baby-sitting fees will be included in their membership.

New members joining this month will pay a $36 enrollment fee and $21.95 a month, Deiuliis said.

Rates are expected to increase every 30 days, she said.
