YTI Career Institute announced Tuesday that it has been acquired by a Connecticut-based chain of for-profit technical schools.
Porter and Chester Institute, which has nine locations throughout New England, has added Springettsbury Township-based YTI to its lineup.
YTI will retain its name and anticipates no changes in its operations, said spokeswoman Meagan Feeser.
YTI manages campuses in York, Lancaster, Mechanicsburg and Altoona, offering classes in various trades and technology fields.
"We're thrilled to have ownership who values our commitment to preparing students for success in their new careers and offering diverse programs that meet the demands of employers," YTI Senior Vice President of Operations Mike Marino said in a statement. "PCI is a longstanding, proven school operator who, like YTI, employs an industry-modeled approach to learning, making this acquisition an ideal match."
