York County officials are hoping to save money by investing money, spending $21,330 for 59 LED light fixtures for the parking garage at the York County Judicial Center.

County facilities director Scott Cassel said the lights, which cost $361 each, are more efficient than the high-pressure sodium lights currently used in the garage.

He said the county is expected to get $7,000 in rebates from utility providers, and the lights are expected to pay for themselves over four years through saved electricity costs. The life expectancy of the lights is 11 years.
