A locked suitcase left at a Springettsbury Township convenience store Wednesday afternoon caused police to evacuate the store and shut down North Hills Road, police said.

Township officers were called to the Rutter's Farm Store at 160 North Hills Road about 5:20 p.m. for a large, locked suitcase found behind the store building, police said.

Officers evacuated the store and shut down North Hills Road as a precaution, then called in a state police bomb squad to examine the suitcase, police said.

The bomb squad determined there was nothing dangerous about the suitcase, which contained clothing, police said.
