DNA evidence led police to a man they say burglarized a Carroll Township restaurant in 2012.

Paul Scott Ford, 41, of the Wellsville area has been charged with burglary, criminal trespass and theft in connection with a burglary that happened at the restaurant on Jan. 22, 2012, Carroll Township Police announced on Thursday.

Money and liquor were stolen from the restaurant, which was not named by police, according to a news release.

Police collected evidence, including samples of blood, that was found at the restaurant. DNA testing was performed and linked Ford to the burglary, police said.

Ford is currently serving time in the state's Correctional Institution at Chester on unrelated charges, police said.

A preliminary hearing on the burglary charges is scheduled for Jan. 13, according to court records.
