The emergency management coordinator for Dover Township has ordered a mandatory evacuation of a mobile-home park near a creek that's swelled beyond its banks.

Chuck Delauter said he ordered an evacuation of the Pine Road neighborhood at about 2 p.m.

Crews helped nine people leave their homes. Some of the residences -- about 25 -- were already vacant, Delauter said.

"They were invited to come to the community building for shelter," he said.

Emergency responders first visited the park around 2 a.m. but were called back this afternoon, Delauter said.

"Any time we get heavy rains, we expect to be down there with some flooding issues," he said. "Until it stops raining, they're probably not going to get a chance to get down in there. I've been telling people probably 8 hours after the rain stops."
