No one was hurt, but one neighbor was evacuated, during a brief standoff between police and an apparently suicidal man at his Dillsburg home, police said.

Just before 10 p.m. Saturday, Carroll Township police officers were called to the home in the first block of Clemens Drive for a possibly suicidal man, police said.

Officers found the man in an upstairs bedroom, lying on a bed and holding a handgun. He pointed the gun at an officer coming up the stairs, then threatened to kill himself, police said.

Officers convinced the man to put down the gun and he was taken into custody without further incident, police said. The man was taken to a local hospital for a mental-health evaluation, according to police.

During the 20-minute standoff, a next-door neighbor was evacuated and a portion of Clemens Drive was blocked by fire police.
